25 years ago, the umbrella associations of Germany’s social insurance opened a representative office to the EU in Brussels. A lot has happened since then: the European Representation has evolved and grown with the years. But the European Union has also changed in the last 25 years and it still faces as many challenges as it did back then. This is especially true for the Member States. Some of their latest challenges include adapting their social security systems to new forms of work and promoting the digitalisation of their healthcare systems. The EU tries to influence the adaptation process with its own initiatives.
There are many reasons for us to take a look back but also to take a look forward. That’s why we’re pleased to announce that the European Representation of the German Social Insurance will be holding a special anniversary event:
“Bismarck meets Bytes: Digital Change and Social Security”
The conference takes place on 7 March 2018 from 1 pm to 7 pm at the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria to the EU, Rue Wiertz 77, 1000 Brussels.
We have invited representatives from national, European and international organisations to discuss with you the challenges and opportunities of digitalisation in social security.
