Reform of social data collection
In the future, data that is important for European social policy will be published faster and it will be easier to make European-wide comparisons.
This is provided for in the European Commission’s proposal from 24 August 2016. The Regulation is supposed to enter into effect in 2019. If the Regulation is adopted, it will bring together the seven existing household surveys. Among other things, statistics on income and living conditions are to be published as early as December in the survey year, which is eleven months earlier than was previously the case.
